Change a child's story. Become a CASA volunteer.
About us
Heart of Missouri CASA speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained volunteer advocate to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest.

Volunteer CASA Denise says, "I feel a deep sense of relief and peace when I think about how my first case ended—that the boys are going to be with grandma forever and that they are never going to being pulled from their home again. They have stability...they have love...and they have connections to their culture." We have all the good feels over here as we celebrate with Grandmother Virginia, Derrick, and Raykwon on their permanent adoption. CASA Volunteer Denise, and Advocate Supervisor Sara, worked tirelessly for this positive outcome. #ChangeAChildsStory #FosterChildren #ThisIsWhy #FamilyAdoption

As we have celebrated #PrideMonth this June, we also reflect that LGBTQ youth are overrepresented in foster care and may face unique challenges. Heart of Missouri CASA volunteers are there to provide guidance, support, and a voice for these resilient young people. More volunteers are needed, especially from our LGBTQIA community! CASA Volunteer Julie Schupp has had 2 cases since 2014. She has been on her current case since 2017, with a young man who is now 18. Julie has made a huge impact when advocating for him to move out of residential and into a traditional foster home. She is currently assisting him, along with his foster parents, navigate life skills, job/educational opportunities, and eventually how to live on his own. Congratulations to Julie for 10 years of advocating for her CASA kids. She has truly made a difference in their lives.
