We were honored to host Isabel González Whitaker, AVP of Moms Clean Air Force and Director of EcoMadres, Alex Mena, Executive Editor at the Miami Herald, and Frank Lorenzo, former CEO of Continental Airlines and author of the book Flying for Peanuts, for an employee event organized by HBP's Mosaic EBRG to celebrate Latin American Heritage Month. Adi Ignatius, Editor in Chief of Harvard Business Review, moderated the conversation and covered many topics from the personal origin stories of the speakers to discussions about expected assimilation, privilege, language barriers, and lessons learned from observing the struggles and accomplishments of their parents’ immigrant experience. Our discussion emphasized the importance of advocating for immigrants and the role of civic engagement in driving positive change. It was a thought-provoking and insightful conversation that shed light on both the diverse and shared lived experiences faced by the Latin American community. We are so grateful to Isabel, Alex, Frank, and Adi for joining us, as well as for our Mosaic EBRG for organizing the event. #LatinAmericanHeritageMonth #diversityequityinclusion
