We're ending #APPWeek by chatting with Lindsey Meehan, PA-C, MPAS, a proud PA within our system! ☀️ She explains that APP Week is about acknowledging the contribution that these providers bring. APPs add a complement of services, they diagnose and treat various diseases, they provide additional access to care, and so much more! Ultimately, APPs are a necessary and integral part of the overall healthcare system. Thank you again to all of our wonderful APPs for all that you do to provide next-level care to our patients! 🤗

The American Heart Association's Hands-Only CPR Mobile Kiosk generously sponsored by Hartford HealthCare is providing critical lifesaving education to create a “Nation of Lifesavers” across Connecticut, and yesterday they unveiled the kiosk at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Bridgeport, where it will remain through the end of October, training individuals and families on how to perform Hands-Only CPR and how to save a life! Thank you to the CT Post for sharing this initiative, which meets people where they are, Carolyn Burke Martindale, and Jocelyn Maminta for being such great partners, and Lynette Coleman, our fabulous Community Impact Director, for representing AHA Connecticut! Newborn infants are our most vulnerable patients and transporting them requires an environment that will keep them warm, safe, and secure. We are so grateful to Michael A. Bozzuto, Jackie Reiner Mozzicato, Scott Smith, Meghan Fay Sullivan, Lori Evon and the entire The Hometown Foundation for their generous support of the LIFE STAR program through the purchase of three Baby Pods and a workstand for our helicopters. The Baby Pod technology is lighter, easier to handle, and able to attach to any available transport stretcher—providing our LIFE STAR crews and on-the-ground caregivers with enhanced safety, speed, and resources that can save young, fragile lives. Designed for infant safety and comfort, Baby Pods include a mattress that molds comfortably around the patient, strapping and anchoring system that allows easy mounting and removal, shock absorbent foam interior that is impervious to bacteria and bodily fluids, and transparent lids that provide easy access to the patient and allows excellent visibility of the infant during transport and in the hospital. Thank you once again to The Hometown Foundation for investing in the LIFE STAR program, our newborn infant patients, and their families. It will greatly enhance newborn infant patient safety and transportation, as well as the critical care we provide in the communities we serve. If you would like to explore how your own philanthropic investment can support our mission, please message me here on LinkedIn! #hartfordhospital #lifestar #hometownfoundation #gratitude #hartfordhealthcare #philanthropy https://lnkd.in/eN4qavzx

As we approach #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, marking nearly a decade of #survivorship since my initial diagnosis in December 2014, I am honored to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, KnitWell Group, and Ann Taylor for the Sisterhood of Strength campaign. Encouraging men and women to #getscreened has been a deliberate purpose of mine, driven by the belief that the world needs each of us HERE. Let's unite in the fight against cancer. Together.

All week long, we’re recognizing our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across our system for the work they do to transform the care experience for our patients and communities. 🩺❤️ • In a peer-nominated selection process, Jayme Clark, Physician Assistant and Medical Director for Primary Care Telehealth & Virtual Care - was named “APP of the Year” here at Hartford HealthCare! • Hear her thoughts on what this means to her, and how passionate she is about making care more accessible, affordable, equitable, and excellent. Thank you to Morgan Gonzales, Robert Holly, and Behavioral Health Business for featuring Aware Recovery Care, Inc.'s strategic partnership with Hartford HealthCare. Having worked in the #postacute space previously, I have been struck by the lack of meaningful strategic partnerships between hospital networks and #behavioralhealth community providers. At Aware, we embrace our role as a trailblazer, and this partnership aims to meaningfully drive innovation, access, and quality for the #Connecticut communities we jointly serve. Thank you to the team at HHC, including James O'Dea, J. Craig Allen, MD, FASM., Kristie Scott, Debra Hayes, Wendy Lang and many others for helping to make this partnership a reality. The Home is Where Recovery Lives.

Recognizing our APPs! Diabetes LifeCare (DLC) at Hartford Hospital located in MOB is grateful for our APPs who work tirelessly at our clinic to take care of our patients with diabetes. Learn about our APPs- Maria, Jaime, Tabitha and Kelly and why they enjoy working at DLC in their own words: Maria Daigneault (Lead APRN) working in DLC since 2009: "Working as an NP in a busy community clinic is my home. I enjoy working with this patient population and my peers are second to none in providing high quality current care for acute and chronic diseases. Never a dull day at DLC and that is how I like it. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to care for patients at the Advanced Practice level. " Jaime Kweon: Worked with diabetes patients 7 years "I like working with a collaborative and supportive team of providers, nurses, and educators to provide diabetes care across the lifespan. It’s rewarding to see patients improve their diabetes control and reduce their risk of complications over time." Tabitha Harris: Working at DLC for 2 years "Diabetes Life Care center is an exciting and fun place to work! Our team works collaboratively to improve the health of individuals with Diabetes and ultimately live healthier, happier lives." Lauren Kelly Hamann: 25 years living with diabetes and 13 years caring for patients with diabetes "I love working at DLC because our team always collaborates to make sure our patients have access to the highest quality diabetes care. Every colleague in our clinic goes above and beyond to support one another and our amazing patients." #HartfordHealthCare #APPWeek #AdvancedPracticeProvider #Diabetes #HartfordHospital #Connecticut
