  • Docs Who Care (DWC) hosted a celebratory breakfast reception at Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) on Tuesday, July 23rd. This event marked the 20th anniversary of an essential partnership dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the Bethany community. “Rural hospitals have small staff and limited abilities to do many of the tasks Docs Who Care manages for us in our Emergency Department,” stated Tina Gillespie, CEO of HCCH. ” Not only have they provided consistent, reliable services, but their physicians took time to connect with our patients and their families personally. The DWC providers have become known by name in our community. They work well with our local team of physicians and nurses, and without DWC, we couldn’t have sustained adequate coverage in our ED.” In recognition of this milestone and as a token of appreciation, Docs Who Care presented a financial gift of $10,000 in support of HCCH’s new hospital facility. Docs Who Care partnered with rural hospitals to deliver high-quality healthcare services, including staffing for emergency departments, inpatient care, and clinic work. Their mission was to support understaffed, rural communities and prevent burnout among local hospital medical staff. “We are proud to celebrate two decades of collaboration with Harrison County Community Hospital,” said Graham Morsch, CEO of Docs Who Care. ” Our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to rural communities remains steadfast, and we look forward to many more years of partnership with HCCH and the Bethany community.”

  • As of Tuesday, June 25, the newly constructed 39th Street is officially open for traffic, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing infrastructure project. The project’s next phase will concentrate on developing the parking areas west of the new road. This includes installing underground utilities, curbing, and preparing parking lot surfaces. Once completed, the parking areas will serve as staging grounds for materials needed for the project’s remainder. The relocation of overhead power lines is nearing completion, and the City of Bethany is actively working on the relocation of light poles along the new 39th Street. Top-soil backfilling along the road and sidewalk is in progress, enhancing the new hospital’s aesthetics and functionality. A small portion of the public sidewalk remains unfinished and will be completed once the storm drain work is finalized near the southernmost approach. Along with these developments, the old 39th Street is being demolished and removed by the county. The concrete from the old road has been donated to the Harrison County commissioners for use in various projects throughout the county, ensuring the materials are repurposed effectively.

  • Pivotal stages of construction are currently underway for the new Harrison County Community Hospital facility 🚧 Key developments include: ▪ Road Closure and Sidewalk Construction: 39th Street is closed for essential tie-in work and is scheduled to reopen around June 24. Concurrently, sidewalk construction along the new 39th Street is nearing completion to ensure seamless pedestrian access upon reopening. ▪ Entrance Approaches: Three of the four entrance approaches to the hospital site have been completed, enhancing accessibility for future patients, visitors, and staff. ▪ Infrastructure Relocation: The City of Bethany has begun relocating street lights and overhead power lines to accommodate the new road layout and support ongoing construction efforts. ▪ Site Preparation: Removing the existing 39th Street is underway to facilitate the final grading of parking areas and the preparation of the new building pad, marking significant progress toward site readiness.
