Bringing together volunteers, homeowners, donors, and community to create stability and self-reliance through shelter.
About us
Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County is a community-based, volunteer driven low-income housing developer. Through its unique model of low-interest loans and self-help homeownership, Habitat generates homeownership opportunities and opportunities for critical home repairs for low income households in King County. Habitat SKC is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing through constructing, renovating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat’s ultimate goal is to transform lives and communities not just through housing itself, but by actively engaging the community to help improve neighborhoods themselves. Habitat has partnered with hundreds of organizations in 17 different cities within King County, building, renovating or repairing more than 600 homes for families in need of affordable housing and transforming local communities in the process. Habitat SKC also operates four retail Habitat Stores, selling new and gently used building materials, appliances and furniture. Proceeds from the Habitat Stores help Habitat SKC provide more housing solutions for families in need of a hand up.

Our team at #HabitatSKKC was thrilled to welcome Adrienne Goolsby, Senior Vice President of US and Canada at Habitat for Humanity International, to our office last week! Adrienne learned about our impactful work in affordable housing in Seattle-King & Kittitas County and engaged with our staff in a special Q&A session. We were inspired by Adrienne's journey with Habitat for Humanity, got to learn insights into future goals and priorities for Habitat US and Canada, and best practices from different affiliates across the region. Thank you for joining us, Adrienne!
