The Paris 2024 Olympics will officially kick off today and Gurit will be tuned in to watch the action and memorable moments unfold over the next two weeks. Tomorrow, four-time Olympian single-sculler Emma Twigg from New Zealand will compete the women's rowing event, in a single scull engineered by and with materials supplied by Gurit and built by our friends SL Racing Ltd The hull shells are made from Gurit carbon and Nomex honeycomb, with Corecell™ structural foam core used in some models. Monash Motorsport from Monash University in Australia, manufactured their newest FSAE car, the M24, in record time using Gurit SE84 prepreg and SE84 film adhesive for various components. The car was then packed it into a shipping container bound for Germany for a 2 month journey across Europe. Their first competition was FS Netherlands and the team were very pleased to be placed 5th overall and demonstrated potential to be internationally competitive! “As this was our first competition in Europe we ran conservatively, but we can’t wait to continue pushing ourselves and our car to achieve even greater results as we compete in Austria, Hungary and Germany over the next few weeks” Monash Motorsport Team #advancedcomposites
