We are exciting to partner with Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas as we move forward with the Guilford County Women with Children Recovery Center! The new facility is part of the county’s overarching strategy to provide support, treatment, and resources to people engaging in recovery services by increasing access to mid- and long-term residential recovery services for Guilford County residents.

🌟 Big News! Earlier this month, our leadership attended the Guilford County Board of Commissioners where we were awarded the opportunity to open a brand-new Family Focused Recovery program! The new Women with Children Recovery Center will provide treatment and support to pregnant and parenting women with substance use recovery needs in Greensboro/High Point, NC. 👉 Read all about it here: https://lnkd.in/eXGMtVdc This marks a huge step for the county towards filling the gap in comprehensive residential services for women and families. The Center will also represent a new milestone for Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas as our very first family focused recovery program! Congratulations to our EVP & COO, Candace Vanderwater; SVP of Clinical Strategy, Dr. Sheryl Neverson; and VP of Carolinas Programs, Dr. Ron Flack for spearheading this transformative effort! #CommunitySupport #NewBeginnings #WomenAndChildren #VOACCUpdates

At the August 1 board meeting, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners proclaimed August 2024 as Child Support Awareness Month in Guilford County. Commissioner Carly Cooke highlighted the work Guilford County Child Support Services does to advance innovative ways to connect parents to resources that help with barriers to paying child support such as family-centered casework and partnerships with other state agencies.
