We build eco-friendly greywater, rainwater and water supply systems that ensure resilience, savings and LID compliance.

About us

Greywater Corps is the only company in the Los Angeles area specializing in water resiliency. We started with greywater systems in 2009 and now install a range of systems for rainwater capture, water purification and water storage, as well as specialized irrigation systems. Hundreds of systems installed over 10 years have made us a nationally recognized authority on the subject, informing our approach to building simple, low maintenance systems that rely on natural processes to make your home water-resilient and sustainable. Greywater and rainwater systems save water, save money, protect the environment, and provide water security for your garden and home in times of drought. Greywater systems take lightly used water from showers, tubs, bathroom sinks and washing machines and reuse it for irrigation. They are ideally suited for trees and large shrubs, growing heat beating shade trees in record time and providing bountiful harvests and food security when paired with fruit trees. Rainwater systems capture and store runoff from rain events, providing ideal irrigation for vegetable gardens as well as added water security in case of emergencies such as pressure drops associated with wildfires. Many of our systems qualify for rebates from state and local agencies, and we are well versed in pulling necessary permits and passing inspections. Don't let precious water go down the drain - use it again!

Since the beginning, education has been an integral part of our mission. That’s why bringing rainwater harvesting to the dreamiest of outdoor classrooms at Sonia Sotomayor High School is a dream come true. Can’t wait to work with Mr. Reies Flores and his students to supply their beautiful farm with reclaimed runoff! Looking to pick up some greywater knowledge and skills? Check out our upcoming workshop on August 3rd! More information at greywatercorps.com #greywater #rainwater #greywatercorps

These rainwater cisterns are part of a seven-tank array with a combined storage capacity of 4000 gallons. A network of pipes at the base of the tanks interconnects them so their level rises and falls in unison. One of the tanks acts as the fountainhead with a pump and pressurized hose bib. A level gauge (pictured) on another tank shows how much water is in the system. #rainwater #rainwaterharvesting #rainwatercistern #rainwatertank #greywatercorps

What am I looking at? Greywater systems can look like a bunch of pipes and dirt. To go more in depth, check out our greywater irrigation workshop on Saturday, August 3rd – special fruit tree edition! We will be leading the class through the design and installation of a "laundry-to-landscape" greywater system. Our goal is to empower people by providing the background and hands-on training to install their own systems (which are perfect for fruit trees!) Info tickets: https://buff.ly/4cnnPL9

You know what they say: the best ability is sustainability. And as far as we're concerned, it's Earth Day all day everyday! Catch us this Saturday at Eagle Rock City Hall for the Eagle Rock Sustainability Fair! Photo of the 1922 Eagle Rock City Hall building by Craig Baker and sketch by the indefatigable Kate Pedigo, who lived to be 104 years old (!) and was alive when it was built.

A greywater pump basin stands ready to irrigate for decades to come with reclaimed greywater. This is not a storage tank (!) - greywater is rich in organic material and shouldn't be stored for more than a day. The basin is designed to receive greywater until a float switch triggers the pump, emptying the tank into the landscape. Pumped systems offer great flexibility for using greywater on lots with elevation changes and large distances to cover. This system will eventually be covered by a deck – the white PVC stub will feed irrigation lines to the landscape.

Great times this weekend at Echo Park Earth Fest! Huge thanks to the Echo Park Neighborhood Council for hosting us, and to everyone who came out to talk greywater. See you next time! And in the spirit of community gatherings, we are looking for laundry-to-landscape greywater workshop hosts for this summer. If you are a homeowner with a washing machine outside or near an exterior wall and a DIY mentality, drop us a line!
