Green Tower is excited to be part of the newest funding round of SolarDuck, securing EUR 15 M of capital to further roll out the development and deployment of the first commercial offshore floating solar projects. Together with our co-investors we see this technology as a great addition to the already existing renewable energy mix, enabling the world to transition to renewable energy even faster.
SolarDuck is closing the year with very exciting news: we have secured EUR 15 million additional funding for the development and deployment of our Offshore Floating Solar power technology. This funding sets the SolarDuck on a path of continued growth, able to further build on its leading position in the Offshore Floating Solar Energy industry, deliver its first commercial projects and increase its impact as the company works towards its goal of deploying over 1 GW of offshore generated solar electricity by 2030. The funding has been provided by both existing and new investors. An international consortium of Katapult Ocean, Green Tower, Energy Transition Fund Rotterdam (fund managed by InnovationQuarter) and Invest-NL all share our commitment to accelerating a sustainable supply of offshore energy with offshore floating solar power. With the new funding, we are able to extend our leading position by deploying our first commercial projects, expand our experienced and dedicated team to continue optimizing the technology to build markets around the world and accelerate the further roll-out.
