📣 Introducing version 2.0 of the Climate Jobs Map If you can discover where money is being invested today, it can help you identify job opportunities - both today and for the future. It is for this reason that Green Jobs Network is excited to announce the newest release of the Climate Jobs Map. This is a free resource which is intended to help job seekers identify investments and jobs in their communities, with a particular focus on climate- and clean energy-related manufacturing. The new version of this map contains more than 800 announced new or expanded U.S. manufacturing facilities in eight sectors that total more than $200 billion in announced private and public sector investments since 1/21/2021. This data is based on information gathered from public sources by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This map is searchable by location and can be filtered by sector, announced number of jobs, and investment amount. You can access the map at climatejobsmap.com If you have any feedback or suggestions for the map, send an email to [email protected]. Thanks! 🌎🌍🌏

📣 Environmental Justice Climate Corps Launched by EPA and AmeriCorps The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and AmeriCorps recently announced (https://lnkd.in/gn6bYriq) the launch of the Environmental Justice Climate Corps (EJCC), a new partnership that is part of the American Climate Corps (acc.gov). This new program will support more than 250 AmeriCorps VISTA members nationwide over three years, with each new participating member completing a one-year term of service. The EJCC is the largest environmental partnership in AmeriCorps’ history and EPA’s first nationwide service effort. EJCC members will be paid a living allowance and reimbursed for selected living expenses. In total, this allowance is equivalent to receiving more than $25 per hour throughout the year of service. Members will also receive the benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA service (including the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, which is valued at $7,395 in FY24) and mentorship and professional development opportunities. EJCC aims to recruit participants from communities disproportionately impacted by environmental justice challenges and seeks to recruit individuals with an interest in environmental justice careers. Applications for the Environmental Justice Climate Corps will open in early 2025, with a goal for its first cohort to start later that year. You can sign up for updates on the program at https://lnkd.in/gB_r28F4 Green Jobs Network will provide updates on the EJCC as part of its ongoing coverage of the American Climate Corps, which you can read at https://lnkd.in/gkZGrWkX. This program has also been added to the Green Jobs Network website for fellowships and climate corps programs at climatefellowships.com. 🌱
