Did you know you can earn the SHRM Foundation’s Employing Abilities at Work Certificate at no-cost? This education aims to educate human resource professionals, people managers and business leaders about the benefits of providing a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace for individuals with disabilities. You will also earn 10 professional development credits toward your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification! According to the Center for Disease Control, disability inclusion means understanding the relationship between the way people function and how they participate in society (and at work) and making sure everybody has the same opportunities to participate in every aspect of life to the best of their abilities and desires. This can be challenging because, as noted by Wendi Safstrom, president of the SHRM Foundation, "nearly 80 percent of disabilities are invisible.” Let’s continue to expand our knowledge on this important topic! SHRM24 in Chicago did not disappoint! We heard some great presentations, great sessions, and some great entertainment as well! One of my favorite sessions was Steve Brown "Be a Change Catalyst in Your Organization! - Proven Ways to Drive Sustainable Change" I hope we get to see him at a WI SHRM State Conference soon! Next year will be in San Diego! Who is going to go?! #SHRM24 #GBSHRM #WISHRM Wisconsin State Council SHRM

April is off to a brilliant start! We began this months member meeting by awarding both small & large employers who are leading the way in incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in their hiring, onboarding, benefit practices, employee engagement and beyond! Our award ceremony was followed by an incredible panel of women leaders who spoke to their personal experiences in the DEI space. They wowed us with the ways they engage leaders in their organizations to embrace a richly diverse workforce. Thank you to our incredible panelists for the open and inspirational dialogue. We're so grateful for your insight and leadership. #DEI #SHRM

Green Bay Area Chapter SHRM reposted this
Green Bay Chapter SHRM hosted Steven J. Smith, SHRM-CP, PHR for our March members meeting where he talked about “marketing” your open positions and ditching the cut and paste of the job description. His book, The Hiring Tree: Laws of Applicant Attraction, breaks down key differences in the various methods of attracting talent and using technology to do the work. We loved having Steven speak to our chapter! His enthusiasm for bringing “marketing” back into recruiting top talent was a much needed topic. Check out our future events at www.gbshrm.org
