Today marks Intern Appreciation Day, a moment to recognize and celebrate the leaders of tomorrow. At TYLin, we regard internships as invaluable opportunities to inspire, nurture, and hone the skills of future engineers. Since May, our 2024 summer internship program has flourished with the participation of over 100 interns across the world. They've been deeply involved in projects related to water infrastructure, innovative transportation solutions, and sustainable building design. United by a shared passion for a greener future, their energy and commitment are driving forces that could redefine these industries for years to come. We aim to immerse each intern in our work, fostering a deep understanding of our collaborative approach and the positive change we create in the communities we serve. The stories of Amanda Newton, EIT, Sydney McIvor, EIT, and Manuel Martinez, EIT, who all started as interns, are a testament to the transformative power of mentorship and real-world experience at TYLin. CEO of TYLin | Head of Sidara Global Infrastructure Brands | Leading a Team of 5000 Professionals in the Design and Development of Infrastructure Worldwide.
Last week, I had the pleasure of touring the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant in Chicago with Michael Hope, President of TYLin | Greeley and Hansen Water Solutions. Serving over 2.3 million people and treating up to 1.44 billion gallons of wastewater daily, our innovative solutions have increased biogas production and significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing the plant's overall carbon footprint. Greeley and Hansen have been instrumental in the success of the Stickney plant for over 80 years, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to our clients and the communities we serve. Witnessing firsthand the scale and complexity of this facility underscored the importance of our collaborative work and exemplified our dedication to tackling complex water management challenges. I'm incredibly proud of our team's unwavering devotion to innovation and sustainability, and I'm excited for the future as we continue to redefine what's possible in the water sector. In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day's theme, "Enhanced by Engineering," we're honored to share the story of five exceptional female engineers from TYLin, Introba, and Dar who embarked on a mission to bring hope and opportunity to a community in Rwanda. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gueTXuWt Myriam ZOGHBY, Alekhya Dontham, Mary Anne Schmitt Speidel, P.E., Dahria Uwamahoro , E.I., M.Eng, and Nikolette Mazzuola, EIT from our Bridges to Prosperity project brought diverse strengths – from meticulous planning to a unique spirit of collaboration. In Rwanda, they challenged stereotypes, showcasing how women excel in every aspect of engineering. They inspire us to fight for gender equality in #STEM. This past Tuesday, Chesapeake Water Environment Association and DC Water held its third annual Water Palooza event at DCW Headquarters. My first year, I attended the event as a volunteer. Last year, I was a member of the planning committee. This year, I served as co-chair of the planning committee alongside Ziwei He, P.E.! We had a very successful day educating the second and third graders of Miner Elementary School on the importance of clean water and how the industry works to achieve it! I am especially grateful to Traci Storm for all of her help coordinating the day, Emanuel Briggs, Stephen Akyereko, and the rest of the planning committee for all of their hard work these past eight or so months. I also want to shoutout all 17 of our generous sponsors, and all 43 of our volunteers for spending the day with us. We couldn't have done it without you, and we can't wait to see you all next year!

🌍 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘆𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 🌉 In collaboration with Bridges to Prosperity, our dedicated team of volunteers from Sidara, TYLin, and Introba is on a mission to build the Muregeya Trail Bridge. This vital infrastructure will connect over 2,500 residents to essential resources that are currently inaccessible during the challenging monsoon season. 🔹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 🔹 The Muregeya Trail Bridge will span the Muregeya River, providing safe, year-round access to schools, markets, and healthcare services. For too long, the monsoon season has made crossing the river dangerous, hindering education, economic activity, and healthcare. This bridge is more than a crossing—it’s a lifeline that unlocks opportunities for education, economic growth, and better health. 🔹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 🔹 From over 100 eager applicants, 10 outstanding volunteers were selected to join this impactful mission. They will spend two weeks on-site, living and working with local community members to complete the bridge. Our team is committed to building not just infrastructure, but a symbol of hope and a catalyst for meaningful change. 🔹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 🔹 Bridges to Prosperity is dedicated to bridging the gap between poverty and prosperity by connecting isolated communities to essential facilities. In the coming weeks, we will share inspiring stories and interviews with volunteers, community members, and residents. These narratives will offer a glimpse into life in Rwanda and the positive impact of this project. Join us on this journey!
