September is National Preparedness Month and we were proud to partner with American Red Cross to support Disaster Training. For more than 138 years, Greater Holyoke YMCA has been committed to community health and wellness - this is our impact!
Staff and volunteers from Western Massachusetts held a volunteer open house in Holyoke Saturday. New comers were trained on Disaster Action Team work and how the Red Cross assists residents in the Pioneer Valley. We are beyond grateful for this transformational grant award that will provide critical safety and security enhancements for our youth services programs. Thank you to Secretary Patrick Tutwiler, PhD, Commissioner Amy Kershaw, Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and rest of partners involved in supporting this project!!!
This year's Early Education Capital Grants were announced today at the East Boston Social Centers in the presence of Secretary Tutwiler, Commissioner Kershaw, Senator DiDomenico, Rep Madaro, various community partners, and the grantees. A total of $8.5 Million in new child care capital awards were granted to 20 organizations across the Commonwealth to improve the facilities so that children continue to learn, play, and grow. The Alliance was present to cheer for the YMCA of Greater Boston, YMCA of Central Massachusetts, and Greater Holyoke YMCA who received this year's award. We are grateful for this investment in the early education field and are looking forward to more meaningful partnerships in the future.
