Frameworks and acronyms come and go. The cost of energy is evergreen and in many cases rising. Hear from our CEO Saleh ElHattab, Jill Malandrino at Nasdaq, and Aidan Madigan-Curtis of Eclipse about how to set up an energy and carbon management strategy that will survive the current energy crisis, increase economic resilience, and save on energy costs. Watch the 15 minute conversation now: https://lnkd.in/eiykGvp9 Thank you Jill and the Trade Talks Team for hosting.

There are 1001 carbon management and decarbonization solutions out there. What makes Gravity different? Our CEO Saleh ElHattab tackled this question recently on CleanTechies with Silas Mähner 🔍🌎. Here's what he said about our corner of the market: 1. While we do carbon measurement and reporting (and do it well!), we focus on helping customers execute projects that make them more resilient, while reducing energy use and emissions. 2. We deliver supporting tools for carbon- and energy-intensive businesses (industrials, manufacturing, etc.) that are sometimes overlooked. 3. Everything we do comes back to business priorities: cost savings and risk management. We're focused on helping customers deliver business value through their carbon and energy management. Listen to his full take below.

4 steps sustainability leaders should take to assess different carbon accounting platforms and find the best one for their operations: 1. Do a pilot with your data: Ask the vendor to show you an example of uploading your own data into their platform. See how that works. Need more time or want to dive deeper? Get access to the sandbox and see how it works for yourself. 2. Speak with customers: Ask for a customer reference to understand their experience with the solution. Dive into how easy it is to use and their overall experience, what it is like to work with the provider on climate strategy, the level of support they have received, and the platform’s openness to product feedback and development. 3. Review their past projects: Ask to see case studies or speak to customers in similar situations or industries to see the impact of the solution. 4. Assess potential ROI: Explore the initial investment against the potential outcomes. See if there are pathways for energy and cost reduction, or if they can estimate potential savings.

Congratulations to TTI, Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway company) on the release of their 2023 Global Sustainability Report. TTI has made huge improvements to its energy and carbon management process over the last year, and they highlighted their partnership with Gravity in this year's report: "In the first two months with Gravity, we measured full Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for almost 200 locations, eliminated manual data entry and reporting, completed data traceability to origin, reduced risk, and saved countless hours." How else are they using Gravity? 1) To explore potential renewable energy options for their key distribution centers, mainly focusing on solar energy. 2) To build on their progress to increase energy efficiency in new and current buildings through energy audits and improvements. 3) Using Gravity’s automated platform to track their carbon emissions and be prepared for compliance with the CDP and other disclosure efforts. 4) To identify emission hotspots throughout their supply chain and prioritize the most cost-effective pathways. We're proud to be partners with TTI on these initiatives and excited to see what they do next. Want to see their full report? Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eDjaj-ib

Need to measure your carbon footprint and not sure where to start? It can be hard to find the right solution for you out of the dozens of carbon accounting tools out there. So our team wrote a new guide that walks you through the steps of choosing a provider: 1. How to assess your needs and prepare your internal team 2. What features to look for in a solution from data collection to decarb 3. How to run a successful selection process That first step is crucial. Aligning internally can help the process of choosing a carbon accounting solution go much smoother. In particular, make sure you know what the end goal is: are you trying to just measure your footprint or would you also like to reduce emissions and costs? Will you need to measure other ESG data or just GHG levels? Having these answers will make it much easier to determine the right fit. Check out the guide below for more details if you're on the search.

You may know Gravity for our carbon management and decarbonization work, but did you know we partnered with Autodesk to launch an add-on that calculates the embodied carbon data of a product directly within Fusion? Manufacturing Sustainability Insights offers real-time visibility into the carbon impact of various design and manufacturing variables, including material selection, manufacturing process, and geography. With few clicks, users can calculate the carbon emissions of their designs and identify alternatives to reduce the product’s carbon footprint. Thanks for your partnership Zoé Bezpalko, Matt Oosthuizen, and Robert Bowerman! Learn more in the link below.
