We're pleased to share that the East Campus Modernization Project was selected as a winner of the Urban Land Institute’s 2024 Urban Land Institute Americas Awards for Excellence! The project is one of ten developments honored from across North America this year: https://lnkd.in/d9rYW3k Graham Baba Architects collaborated with LMN Architects to create 90,000-square-feet of new dining and retail spaces encompassing nearly the entire ground floor of two buildings inside this 17-building, 70-acre redevelopment at the core of a global technology company’s corporate campus in Redmond, Washington. The goal was to create experiential diversity, providing staff with choices, much like picking a restaurant within a neighborhood or city. The East Campus Modernization Project was designed in collaboration with LMN Architects, ZGF Architects, NBBJ Design, Berger Partnership, Coughlin Porter Lundeen, B H Architects, Affiliated Engineers, Inc., and AECOM among others. Summertime in full swing outside The Hangar in the City of Kenmore! Conceived as a pavilion, the building is designed to morph depending upon weather or functional requirements. Simple and large, the space opens to the Town Square via a 24-foot-wide by 16-foot-tall bi-fold window wall. When open, the large roof overhang provides protection from rain and sun. Designed by Graham Baba Architects with HEWITT (prime consultant and landscape), KPFF Consulting Engineers (civil), PAE (electrical), Harriott Valentine Engineers (structural), LUMA Lighting Design (lighting) and Arup (acoustical design). "Because we design in great detail, this often naturally extends itself into the fixtures. It's a great place to amplify the architecture and integrate craft. Our collaborations with Resolute and other studios have been opportunities to bring moments into our projects that add a heightened sense of personality to the space. They can bring it all together." - Jim Graham, Principal / Founder Selected projects include: Vitus, Global Technology Company, Alaska Airlines Lounge at SeaTac, Washington Fruit & Produce HQ Photos: Kevin Scott (Vitus, WA Fruit), Matthew Millman (Global Technology Company), and Andrew Pogue (Alaska Airlines) #grahambaba #lightingfixtures #lightingdesign #designdetails #craft
