Big day for the window heat pump industry! 🏆 ENERGY STAR has released a test method for measuring the efficiency of window ACs in heating mode! This method defines a new metric, the Heating Energy Efficiency Ratio (HEER), which measures the seasonal efficiency of a window heat pump. 🔌 HEER is similar to the Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF2) that defines seasonal efficiency for minisplit or ducted heat pumps. This advancement means uniform and enhanced reporting of heating performance across the industry.⚡ It also means better access to incentives for our customers. 💵 We’re proud to have pioneered this product category and to have contributed to the test method through the comments we submitted. Most of all, we’re grateful to ENERGY STAR for the leadership and urgency they’ve shown in advancing their programs as the industry evolves, helping to break down barriers to the adoption of heat pumps. #energyefficiency #sustainability #hvac #innovation #partnership

We make home heaters & air conditioners that are better for the planet, easier to install, and more pleasant to use.
About us
Gradient’s mission is to cool the world by transforming every home to be more comfortable and healthy for the people who inhabit it — without compromising the environment. Today, heating and cooling equipment emits more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire transportation sector, and expansion in the use of cooling is projected to double these emissions in the next 30 years. However, comfortable buildings are critical for health and productivity, especially among communities that are vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Gradient’s vision is a future where everyone has access to comfortable buildings that are fully decarbonized. Our flagship product is a high-efficiency and low-carbon window heat pump suited for moderate climates; our second-generation window heat pump, the All-Weather 120V, is suited for cold climates.
