About us
Gordon County is one of Georgia's 159 counties and is rich in natural and historic resources. From its beginnings in 1850 to today, Gordon County offers its current and new residents many opportunities for work and play. Gordon County is strategically located on I-75 in northwest Georgia, 45 minutes from both Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN. This enviable location has attracted and continues to attract commercial and industrial enterprises such as major carpet and floor covering manufacturers, food processors, heavy machinery assembly companies, and distribution firms. Gordon County and the surrounding area offer a vast array of quality-of-life resources including civil war historic sites, state parks, quality health care, excellent public and higher educational opportunities, a cultural arts center, a regional outlet mall, and the nearby fast pace urban life of Georgia's capital city of Atlanta. Welcome to Gordon County. We have what you need.

We would like to officially welcome and congratulate Erle J. Newton III as Gordon County’s (Cherokee Judical Circuit) District Attorney!
I am honored that Governor Brian Kemp has appointed me to serve as the District Attorney for the Cherokee Judicial Circuit. My office will continue to seek justice for the citizens of Bartow and Gordon Counties every day, without fail. I am committed to making sure Bartow and Gordon Counties remain great communities by maintaining our partnership with all law enforcement agencies and by serving as the voice for victims of crime. The Assistant DAs, Investigators, Victim Advocates, and Administrative Assistants in my office are second to none and I am grateful for their commitment to our citizens.
