You may have seen some of our recent progress at Google Research on quantum computing that we published in Nature …https://lnkd.in/gVGxFwA8 ... earlier this week my colleagues Charina Chou, Hartmut Neven and I shared our perspective in Foreign Affairs Magazine on what lies ahead in quantum computing and why we believe progress in quantum has profound implications for national security, the global economy, and scientific progress. While many of the practical applications of quantum computing will be achieved years, if not decades, in the future, the race for quantum progress is happening now – and with so much more still to do. The groundwork we lay now will determine if we are able to fully realize its potential benefits for agriculture and food production, treatment of disease, materials, energy and more, while addressing its risks. You can read our perspective here: https://lnkd.in/gd3fZYtB (note, while Foreign Affairs has a paywall, you’re able to read the full article by sharing your email address with them.)
