good neighbor was established on the concept of recreating the feeling of stepping into a loved one’s home.

About us

Based in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, MD, good neighbor is a design-forward, multi-vertical concept that recreates the feeling of stepping into a loved one's home. Through good neighbor's coffee-shop and retail space, guests fully engage with leading design brands by having a beautiful and comfortable place to sit, enjoy food served on ceramics from local makers, and enjoy conversation with their neighbors. In April 2022, good neighbor launched "green neighbor," a plant shop that is a natural extension of good neighbor's values and serves as another opportunity to build a community around thoughtful design. At good neighbor, every object, every sip, and every bite exists to inspire and nurture curiosity about the wider world and its shared community by bridging the gap between local and global design brands and neighbors.

Understanding how the things we find special arrive in front of us, whether a mug, a chair, or a room, brings us directly into the design process by allowing us to experience those things and be a part of its story. BmoreArt graciously allowed us to share how guesthouse by good neighbor came to be and fits right in with everything we're building a community around in Baltimore so our neighbors can be a part of ours. "With its blend of history, sustainability, and community, the guesthouse by good neighbor (lowercase with intention) is a testament to the transformative power of design and genuine hospitality. This fusion of cultures creates a unique ambiance that reflects the couple's deep-rooted appreciation for both traditions. Their commitment to showcasing their love for the Charm City is also evident in every detail, as hospitality flows through the space, inviting guests to experience the warmth of their diverse backgrounds." Read the whole story, written by Raquel Castedo and Radamés JB Cordero, and with photography from Vivian Marie Doering here:

How can hospitality development enhance & contribute to a locale while also preserving & honoring the existing community? Listen in as our panelists share their personal experiences building and growing their hospitality ventures in different areas across the US! We are so excited about all the engaging conversations that our panelists will have in Asheville this summer! Will we see you there? Grateful doesn't begin to reach the level of emotion we have on a second Dwell feature. This time, we hosted Jack Balderrama Morley at our recently opened guesthouse. Not just that; co-owner and creative director Shawn Chopra took Jack around to meet some of our neighbors who inspire us, had a hand in realizing this incredible new step for us, and enjoyed some of the best food in the city. It's truly a special piece that gives a glimpse of how we hope to continue to reshape the narrative of Baltimore into one that we already know to be true. This city is an incredibly inspiring and design-centric place that deserves to be on the world stage. Thank you, Jack Balderrama Morley, the team at Cohere, and the city of Baltimore, which continues to impress. You can read it all here: https://lnkd.in/dMUBM796
