🔌 "The new machines have brought change to our communities." In Nigeria, local agro-processors in three communities have electrified their mills and grinders with the help of Farm Warehouse. They are now enjoying lower energy costs and quieter operations thanks to their new machines running on a Prado Power #minigrid. 🎉EXCITING NEWS: The Twaake integrated energy #minigrid was recognized at this week's Reuters Global Energy Transition 2024 Awards for its work in powering productivity to the local community in Kiwumu, Uganda, through #cleanenergy. Led by Umeme Ltd and coordinated by Power for All, Utilities 2.0 launched Twaake, which means "let's light" in Luganda. This project uses an innovative design combining centralized and decentralized technologies, delivering affordable clean energy faster than traditional methods, and resulting to nearly 200% increase in electricity demand. To further prove the scalability of the integrated energy approach used in Kiwumu, the Utilities 2.0 coalition aims to replicate the pilot at six more sites across Uganda, where it is expected to provide similar benefits and see similar success.
