The first modular ADU (accessory dwelling unit) has been placed in Lahaina on a property that has been cleared of debris and deemed ready to build. Awaiting final permitting this is an important step forward, allowing the family to get back to their land and have stable and comfortable housing while they rebuild their primary residence. PLEASE WATCH IMPORTANT UPDATE on the massive children's hospital bombing on July 8th, 2024. The Ohmatdyt hospital is largest and most important children's hospital in Ukraine. It serves as a lifeline for children with multiple wings and blocks. Our GEM Ukraine team was on the ground that day already delivering water to the injured. We immediately assessed the areas that can be fixed right away. In just two week's time, our Global Empowerment Mission The Howard G. Buffett Foundation window program was already replacing windows. This has allowed a wing to be functioning again with very critical care needed for infants. GEM USA West hosted its second recovery pop-up event in response to the January 2024 floods that impacted thousands of homes in San Diego. Through dedicated collaboration with flood survivors, local groups, organizations, and government officials, we have successfully organized impactful pop-up initiatives. These spaces provide families with a sense of normalcy, offering free shopping for clothing, tools, haircuts, food, and more. This distribution model enabled us to engage our partners and local organizations, allowing over 200 families and 637 individuals to access essential resources and receive direct support. #GEM USA West collaborated with existing and local partners such as Avon, Good360, #JirehProviders for medical assistance, SD County for mental health awareness, Open Heart Leaders, CERT, SD VOAD, SDGE, County of San Diego Live Well, Legal Aid Society of SD, Cardiology of Southern California, Serene Health Group, Salvation Army, and Chick-fil-A for hot meals and beverages. Additionally, U.S. Representative Edgar Gonzalez from Juan Vargas' office was present to address inquiries from both survivors and organizations. A very special thanks to all of our partners who played such a crucial role in the ongoing recovery efforts for thousands of families still displaced by these recent floods.

Hurricane Beryl 2 week update. Global Empowerment Mission and its partners have been actively distributing supplies in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, which caused significant destruction starting from July 2nd. This major storm has severely impacted the Caribbean, with extensive damage reported in St. Vincent, Grenada, Jamaica, and other nearby islands. Additionally, Hurricane Beryl caused substantial damage in Mexico and Texas, leaving millions without power and suffering major property damage. From our Doral, Florida headquarters, #GEM began packing critical supplies immediately and dispatched cargo planes with aid to Grenada on July 3rd and Jamaica on July 5th, with continued shipments since. We have also sent a truck of aid to Texas and procured supplies in Mexico for distribution. Our team members have been deployed on the ground providing essential support to those affected by the hurricane. The aid includes food, water, hygiene supplies, tarps, generators, mattresses, construction materials and other necessary items. Aid value distributed to date $374,000 or 150,000 pounds of supplies. In Jamaica alone, GEM has distributed humanitarian aid to seven communities in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, South Manchester, and Rocky Point in Clarendon. Notably, we delivered an additional $84,000 dollar generator through our partners @breds to families and shelters, restoring power to many who were without it. These funds were matched through our partnership with NCB Foundation.
