I am thrilled and honored to share that I have been named as Vice President of the Gamma Iota Sigma - Epsilon Chapter at the University of Alabama for this upcoming 2024-2025 school year! I cannot begin to express my gratitude and thanks to all the fantastic people who have helped along the way, including Karen Epermanis and Kenny Wunder. Gamma Iota Sigma has tremendously grown my insurance knowledge as well as exponentially increase my network with rising students in the industry as well as key industry leaders.   The opportunities, including shadowing, networking, and traveling have meant so much and taught me invaluable skills. I am excited to help give back and build up the organization that has helped me so much. A few of my goals as Vice President are to increase community and engagement among our members as networking and having a community is so important in the industry. Additionally, I want to help increase our presence on campus to help give more ambitious students opportunities just as I was given. Our trip to the Gamma Iota Sigma Atlanta Regional Conference was a remarkable experience! The Epsilon chapter of GIS gained invaluable insights from insurance experts on topics like cyber insurance, underwriting, and brokerage. The career fair was a fantastic opportunity for networking with industry recruiters and hiring managers. A massive thank you to Gamma Iota Sigma for hosting this educational and inspiring event. I had the privilege to travel with the Gamma Iota SIgma - Epsilon Chapter to the WSIA (Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association) Extreme Risk Takers conference in Atlanta, GA! I got to hear from incredible speakers in the industry about topics that ranged from personal branding to risk placement in the sports and ocean marine industry. I also had the opportunity to engage in several roundtable discussions with some amazing professionals in the industry. Thank you so much to the WSIA board and committee for providing this absolutely amazing opportunity.

Last week our members had the opportunity to volunteer at the West Alabama Food Bank! WAB works to end hunger by securing donations, and safely storing and distributing food to hunger relief programs. We love being able to give back to our community. Roll Tide!

The Insurance Hall of Fame, presented by the International Insurance Society (IIS), honors trailblazers who have made visionary, innovative contributions to the insurance industry. In 1987, the IIS Insurance Hall of Fame was established at the Culverhouse College of Business thanks in part to the advocacy of Dr. John Bickley. In 2015, the Insurance Hall of Fame endowed support fund was established by Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co., whose North American subsidiary Protective Life Corporation is located in Birmingham. Recognize their significant contributions by visiting the refreshed Insurance Hall of Fame Museum, located in the Don James Quiet Study in Hewson Hall. 🏅
