Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

About us

One of the wisest things society can do is empower today's girls. After all, girls and women make up 51% of the population! It is important for the women of tomorrow to be responsible, motivated adults who will inspire future generations to succeed. Since 1954, Girls Incorporated of Orange County has utilized research-based programs to transform the lives of thousands of girls by giving them the skills to become confident, successful, and independent women. By offering age-appropriate, research-based programs, Girls Incorporated of Orange County helps girls deal effectively with a variety of issues that they face in today's world. These programs give girls the confidence to do things previous generations of women have only dreamed of or not known were possible: pursuing careers in science, math, or technology; avoiding the traps of teen pregnancy, drugs, and violence; staying healthy in body and mind; and asserting their point of view with confidence. We are the people and the place that help girls succeed!

  • Girls Inc. of Orange County, in collaboration with Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, hosted the IgniteHER Girls Summit at Orange Coast College, bringing together over 200 7th-11th graders for an empowering experience. As leaders in all things girls, Girls Inc. of Orange County demonstrated our capability to organize impactful events like this because we understand the unique challenges facing girls in our community. One of the summit’s highlights was keynote speaker Sirisha Bandla, Vice President of Government Affairs at Virgin Galactic, and an actual astronaut. Sirisha shared her awe-inspiring journey into space on the Virgin Galactic Unity 22 spaceflight. Her story of becoming the second Indian-born woman to go to space, overcoming numerous obstacles along the way, emphasized that not all paths are linear. Sirisha’s message was clear: with the right mindset and determination, any dream is achievable. The event concluded with the “Visionary Voices” panel, consisting of true girl power personalities who inspired girls to bring their chair to the table of their choice. Girls Inc. of Orange County is committed to fostering a generation of strong, smart, and bold girls ready to change the world. A big thank you to Cottie Petrie-Norris & team and all our community partners for supporting our next generation of leaders! #GirlsIncOC #IgniteHER #GirlsEmpowerment #Leadership #FutureLeaders #StrongSmartBold #orangecoastcollege #virgingalactic #cottiepetrienorris
