Georgia Department of Community Health reposted this
A few weeks ago during Public Employee Recognition Week (PERW), I was honored to be a nominee and recipient of the Rising Star Award here at the Georgia Department of Community Health. I am humbled just to be nominated, and I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work for an organization that supports me and my career goals while recognizing the contributions we make to bringing affordable, quality healthcare to millions of Georgians. I'm looking forward to increasing my knowledge as a Budget Analyst, growing in my career as a public servant, and continuing to give back to my team as well as the citizens of Georgia. Special thank you to Ametria Baker, Jacenta Carmichael, and Nazeeya Abudulai for being instrumental in my journey thus far! Rising Star Award: Awarded by DCH Managers & Supervisors to Generation Y or Generation Z employees who demonstrate impactful contributions to the success of their team. They have shown their commitment to the mission and values of the agency, and a passion for serving the citizens of Georgia.

I’m honored and excited to have represented the Georgia Department of Community Health at the 2023-2024 2Gen Academy hosted by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. This academy provided a unique and innovative opportunity to reinforce the necessity of supporting families through ecological, anti-poverty, and anti-racism action. My group did our capstone project on developing trauma-informed workplaces in state government, so those who care for Georgia families are cared for themselves. We were lucky to partner with Resilient Georgia, who will be carrying our work forward by providing such trainings. Please contact them or me for more information!
