We are excited to welcome a group of talented interns to the GENEX team this summer! They have been on the job for a while now. Hopefully, you have gotten to visit with one of them! Today, let's get to know Justin McGee a little better. Justin is in his second year studying farm management and technology with an animal concentration at Cégep de Victoriaville. He lives in Warwick, Québec, Canada, and developed his passion for cattle while working on various farms. This summer Justin has been covering eastern Ontario and Québec working on a colostrum project. He is excited to be a part of the GENEX team and says, "My coworkers bring me a sense of joy and accomplishment every day. They are always willing to help me improve." We are honored to have you on the GENEX team, Justin, and are so glad you have found a group of individuals and an industry that helps develop your passion. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

We are excited to welcome a group of talented interns to the GENEX team this summer! They have been on the job for a couple of weeks, so we thought it was time to start to get to know them. Adalee Thelen is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in animal science with a dairy industry concentration and minoring in agribusiness management. She has developed her passion for dairy cattle growing up on her family's dairy farm in St. Johns, Michigan, and becoming involved in 4-H and FFA. At MSU, Adalee has been a member of the dairy judging and dairy challenge teams, as well as serving in officer roles with MSU Dairy Club and the Michigan Junior Holstein Association. Adalee will be covering Michigan and the southwest region this summer with the GENEX Technical Services internship. In her first month on the job, Adalee has enjoyed meeting dairy producers and GENEX field staff. She says, "I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn from some of the most knowledgeable and progressive managers and dairies in the industry." One of the things on Adalee's bucket list is to travel around Europe, "I would love to visit several different countries, see beautiful sights and experience new cultures." While the Southwest isn't a different country, it is a quite a bit different than Michigan, so we hope you are enjoying that change this summer!

We are excited to welcome a group of talented interns to the GENEX team this summer! They have been on the job for a couple of weeks, so we thought it was time to start to get to know them. Brianna Hill is a junior majoring in animal science with a dairy industry concentration and minoring in agribusiness management at Michigan State University. Brianna grew up on a dairy farm in Michigan. She is serving as a Technical Services Intern in our Great Lakes territory. Brianna says, "Growing up on a dairy farm was the foundation for my agriculture passion. All my experiences related to agriculture have only grown that passion!" While out and about, she has learned a lot from the conversations with producers, and she appreciates their excitement for receiving feedback. "I love spending time in different parts of the country and getting to know the producers I am working with." When asked what was one thing on her bucket list, Brianna answered, "As generic as it sounds, I would love to travel to every state. Finding great ice cream at as many places as I can along the way would be an added perk!" Enjoy your summer and we hope you find lots of ice cream, Brianna!

Congratulations to Dave Thisius on his retirement! 🎉 After graduating from high school, Dave joined Midwest Breeders Cooperative, a dairy and beef cattle genetics company and predecessor of GENEX, as a regional relief artificial technician. Five months later, he accepted a breeding program specialist position in Winona County and has served the dairy and beef producers around St. Charles, Minnesota, ever since. In 2006, He received his 100,000th first service award, and in 2010, Dave was recognized by the cooperative with an Excellence in Leadership Award. Dave began his career with us by skipping his high school graduation ceremony to attend training school. His dedication has continued throughout his amazing career! Enjoy retirement, Dave!
