The Greater Dallas County Development Alliance held a wonderful annual business event at Stine Barn in West Des Moines today. They captured so many of the successes and victories happening around the county while honoring some of the challenges overcome along the way. We appreciate special recognition given to Dallas County Hospital in front of dozens of guests today for serving as a beacon of hope for communities, specifically in relation to our mobile food pantries and additional programs provided to help those facing food insecurity. We thank them and appreciate their work in volunteering at our pantries, securing donations to elevate these programs, and partnering with us to advance the overall health and vitality of our amazing county!

The Perry IA Chamber of Commerce has been selected as one of the pilot recipients of the Iowa Rural Development Council’s (IRDC) Rural Business Initiative (RBI), funded by a generous $200,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation! This initiative aims to bolster small businesses in rural Iowa. In response to the recent closure of Tyson, which impacted over 1,200 jobs in the Perry community, the plan focuses on reviving a pandemic-era business grant program. This program will provide essential capital for local businesses, enhancing their ability to invest in products, services, marketing, and improvements.
