About us
The Georgia Social Impact Map is an initiative of the Georgia Social Impact Collaborative (GSIC), which was formed by a group of community leaders committed to developing a stronger ecosystem of impact investing in Georgia. By bringing together our region’s leaders, representing all sectors of our social fabric, we envision an energetic and dynamic network that raises up our social impact ecosystem. In order to unlock our region’s resources and develop networks of collaboration, GSIC built a comprehensive map of our resources, relationships, and gaps to create a dynamic tool for anyone seeking to engage in impact investing in Georgia: -Identify the region’s resources, gaps and key players engaged in or interested in social impact; -Communicate and connect businesses and investors to nonprofits and social entrepreneurs; -Educate all interested parties on impact investing; -Expand and Cultivate the pipeline of investable opportunities for all types of investors; -Accelerate the deployment of capital from private sector, philanthropic and public sources; -Live On to serve as a dynamic and iterative community resource that connects capital to causes.

Way to go, Michael Belles! Georgia's impact investing ecosystem is better for your leadership and Catalyze's work! #SOCAP24
Just a few days until #SOCAP24! If you're tired of sitting through panels with so-called experts minding their manners and reciting the standard fare, consider joining for our session, first thing Tuesday (10/29). Life's too short for boring conversations - our panelists will share the honest truth about the difficulties they faced raising a fund, how they got creative (read: entrepreneurial) to make it happen, and some ideas for how we can improve this process for the next generation. Drop me a line if you'll be in SF next week!

In finance and economics spaces, an “exchange” is an open and organized marketplace for commodities, stocks, securities, derivatives and other financial instruments. Mission Investors Exchange’s annual conference is a vital, field-building event where practitioners "exchange" the lessons learned, models, and tools allowing them to advance impact investing in their institutions, communities, and sectors. We’re thrilled that Atlanta will host MIE’s community in 2026! Georgia Social Impact Collaborative (GSIC) has been working since 2016 to organize, grow, and promote Georgia’s impact investing ecosystem. We know there's innovation happening here! Looking forward to centering some of our practitioners and lessons learned in this event and beyond. #placebasedimpactinvesting #MissionInvest2026

We sincerely hope that you will join us for the marquee event of our calendar year. More details and registration coming in 2025! #MissionInvest2026

October is Employee Ownership Month! Why should Georgia’s impact investing community care? 1. Alternative business structures - like cooperatives, ESOPs (Employee Stock Ownership Plans), and more - promote sustainable, inclusive, and community-focused growth. These businesses prioritize long-term economic stability, fair wages, and more equitable wealth distribution and share power with employees and the broader community, leading to increased productivity and loyalty. 2. Often, businesses with alternative ownership structures strengthen local economies by driving more dollars into local suppliers and supporting business partners. This can foster a sense of community ownership and shared prosperity, which can lead to greater social cohesion and economic resilience. 3. These businesses generate obvious social benefits in terms of quality job creation and economic resilience, but they are also tools for investors seeking to invest in the climate transition as well as racial justice and wealth building. Interested to learn more about employee ownership and access helpful resources to support your business or organization? It’s not too late to join a conversation! October 24th: Georgia Center for Employee Ownership (GACEO) Ownership is hosting a series of concurrent workshops followed by the 2024 Georgia Employee Ownership Celebration. Concurrent workshops will feature voices from Profitable Purpose Consulting, Aegis Trust Company, LLC, Georgia Cooperative Development Center, and Zolidar. October 30th: Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative is convening an immersive learning experience to discuss how alternative ownership structures can work for Black businesses. This half-day workshop will feature some of Georgia’s existing black-led cooperative enterprises like Pecan Milk Cooperative, Gangstas to Growers, and The Guild. Participation is limited. Interested persons should reach out to Kim Addie.
