We recently had an incredible Soaring Valor trip out of Central Florida, where we honored our amazing WWII veterans. Their courage, sacrifice, and stories continue to inspire us all. These heroes have left a lasting mark on history, and their legacy will live on through us. We were especially moved by the Air Force JROTC cadets who accompanied our veterans. This Soaring Valor not only bridged the generation gap, but also inspired the next generation of American heroes. This program, made possible by our partnership with The National WWII Museum and American Airlines, helps preserve these important stories and ensures their sacrifices are never forgotten. Thank you to The National WWII Museum and American Airlines for making this journey unforgettable.

This #MedalofHonorMonday, we honor the extraordinary heroism of Sgt. John Levitow, U.S. Air Force. 🇺🇸 During a night mission in support of Long Binh Army Post, his aircraft was struck by a hostile mortar round, creating over 3,500 holes in the craft and wounding all occupants. Despite suffering over 40 wounds, Sgt. Levitow saw a smoking flare and, disregarding his own injuries, moved his wounded teammate to safety. Struggling through loss of blood and partial loss of feeling in his right leg, he threw himself onto the burning flare, dragging it to the rear of the aircraft and hurling it out the open cargo door just as it ignited mid-air. His selfless actions saved the aircraft and crew from certain death and we remember and honor his courage and sacrifice. 🌟

Wounded hero and specially adapted home recipient Jose Armenta joined us for an unforgettable adaptive mountain biking trip in Park City last summer, just before receiving his new home on Veterans Day. 🇺🇸 At the home dedication, we announced we were building him his own adaptive mountain bike. 🚴♂️ Jose received his bike a few weeks ago and shared this amazing moment of him and his kids getting to ride together! 🌲 According to Jose, “This gave me a much-needed recharge as it had been about 11 years since I participated in any outdoor recreational activity. Also, it introduced me to adaptive mountain biking, which I never tried and absolutely loved! It was adrenaline therapy, for sure. Because it had such a positive impact on my mental health and outlook on my physical abilities, I think events like this can literally change lives.” Here's to more adventures and life-changing experiences! 🌟
