A company working to combat runaway climate change by deploying remote methane destruction devices

About us

Our proven technology neutralizes methane from otherwise unregulated sources such as manure ponds, abandoned coal mines, landfills and natural sources, which earns carbon offset revenue that we share with our partners.

I'm headed to Davis tomorrow to attend the CA Dairy Sustainability Summit. Please message me if you are attending and would like to meet. I'm eager to participate and meet up with folks!

We're so excited that the fourth California Dairy Sustainability Summit is taking place in just 3 days! We look forward to learning from all our esteemed speakers. Panelists will discuss some of the most high-tech and innovative projects that are advancing dairy farm sustainability. This includes... - the only fully renewable, green hydrogen production facility (that's using CA dairy biogas), - a fully-automated, electric feed-mixing center on a CA dairy, - the application of manure effluent via subsurface drip irrigation, - and a UC collaborative project that aims to reduce methane using the genome-editing tool CRISPR on microbes in the cow's gut. #CADairy #CADairySummit #PlanetSmartDairy H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies Netafim

Fantastic to attend the GMI conference with so many country representatives, geologists, policy experts, non profits and a bit of the private sector, all trying to abate methane emissions.

Everyone is watching because there are only 6 more harvests until 2030 emissions reduction goals are accounted for, and for #dairy / meat brands, #scope3emissions represent the majority of their overall footprint. For example, Dairy Farmers of America estimates that 98% of their emissions are Scope 3 (i.e. farms where they source milk), with enteric methane accounting for 28% of that and #manure management right behind it at 26%. Long story short: Reducing on-farm #methane emissions will be critical for brands to meet their goals. According to a 2022 report by Accenture, 93% of brands need to double their past efforts to meet their 2030 goals or risk severely missing them. Another recent report showed that emissions from key protein production companies such as Walmart and McDonald's actually rose 3.28% from 2022 to 2023 (Danone and a few others were down - well done!). Facing intense public pressure, many food brands have made targets, with 2030 goals being the norm. Here are a few recognizable brands and the targets they’ve made. Dairy Farmers of America - 30% reduction of all scopes by 2030 Starbucks - 50% of all scopes by 2030 Danone - 50% of all scopes by 2030 Chipotle - 30% of all scopes by 2030 Mars - Reduce Scope 1 and 2 by 42% and Scope 3 by 25% by 2030 Cargill - 30% of all emissions per ton of product sold by 2030 Frost Methane drives conservation dollars to small and medium farms, leveraging grants to implement on-farm #methanereduction technologies in manure management. A year ago, the Frost Methane team installed our offset-producing project on an underground coal mine that shut down over 30 years ago. Despite the shut down and appropriate sealing, methane continued to desorb from the seam and make it to the atmosphere, until this: https://lnkd.in/gh4YJbNN The tech operated flawlessly through snow storms and heat waves. The remote control features, video steam, remote ignition & sensor calibration, dashboards and meticulous instrumentation allowed us to precisely measure our GHG reduction, and detect & recover from any unusual conditions including outages of the local utility remotely. Congratulations to the team for a year of operations! Elizabeth Hillstrom, Laughlin Barker, Edwin Chiu, Phil, Curtis Kline, Angela Mitcham, Rogel Mark Pucio, Toby the Best Dog It’s also been a pleasure to work with the land owners of the site and Chris Caskey who introduced us to the site. Know anyone who could benefit? Send them our way.

Huge congratulations to Angela Mitcham for signing Frost Methane Labs's first deal in the livestock methane space! This included submitting for the first Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)  EQIP grant for Cover and Flare in the country. In addition to mitigating methane and earning revenue for it, the farmers benefit by preventing their manure storage from filling with rain (reducing spreading costs, reducing overflow risk) and reducing odors. If you know a farmer with a herd size of 6K pigs or 1K cows that could benefit or a consumer brand that really cares about reducing their methane Scope 3 emissions - send them our way for an assessment. We can also help them access newly released conservation funds. P.s. methane from livestock manure accounts for 400-800 MT CO2e/ annually. For comparison, the entire aviation sector emitted 800 MT CO2e in 2022. #methanereduction #methane #ira #livestockfarming #livestock #livestockmanagement
