The Fresca Foods team had a blast at Natural Products Expo West, connecting with partners old and new! Here are a few of our stand-out trends we saw this year: 1. Clean & Simple - Overwhelmingly, the innovation at this year's Expo wasn't crazy, wasn't over-the-top healthy, and wasn't breakthrough technology, but rather clean ingredient simplicity. Delicious products that bring comfort, are "better than," and feature ingredients anyone might know and recognize were the stars of the show for us. 2. Baked Bars - As a bar manufacturer, of course we have to give a shout out to the number of baked bars we saw! Bars for kids, like Once Upon A Farm's toddler bars, Nature's Bakery minis, and KIND Kids, as well as bars for adults like Simple Mills soft baked Almond Flour bars - we loved sampling all the delcious innovation in bars this year. 3. Dairy Making a Comeback - Plant based milks and dairy alternatives have taken center stage for the past few years, but no so much this time around! We saw dairy innovation galore: from ice cream and frozen novelties to yogurt and milk, the dairy industry is fighting back. 4. Buh-Bye Keto - Keto is out, and "low sugar" is in. If you find yourself in this middle ground, using air quotes, and/or unsure if you should even be getting a Valentine’s day gift this year, you are not alone. #Sweethearts, the beloved pastel-colored heart candies from our childhood Valentine's Day parties, has ingeniously introduced boxes filled with their misprinted candies. Sweethearts/Spangler Candy® Co has seized the opportunity to embrace a current trend, adding value to what might have been considered a manufacturing flaw. It's worth noting that due to an overwhelming response to the appeal of these Situationship Boxes, they have sold out.
