Aspire MRO—a Fortress private equity company—has moved its first Boeing 777 plane from hangar to runway—an important milestone in its innovative passenger-to-freight aircraft conversion, following the successful installation into the plane of the world’s largest airplane side cargo door. Moving the airplane out of the hangar creates space for work to start on the next Boeing 777 aircraft. Aspire MRO can concurrently convert six 777 aircraft at its hangar at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport—executing a conversion designed by Mammoth Freighters, which is also a Fortress portfolio company.
N705DN, one of our 777-200s on its way to becoming a freighter, has been moved outside after the successful installation of its new cargo door! With space cleared in the hangar, we’re ready to take on the next project while work continues on N705DN outside. More updates to come as we progress through the Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) process. #AviationEngineering #P2FConversion #AspireMRO #TeamworkInAction #CargoAviation #777Transformation #FreighterConversion
