I had the pleasure of attending the National Real Estate Women’s Forum 2024 in San Diego this week. It was great to meet so many brilliant, uplifting, and hardworking women in the industry. I was excited to meet Katie Brenes from Flex. We partner with Flex for rent and deposit options for our residents. If you don’t use them, I encourage you to check them out! There is a lot of excitement surrounding AI in real estate! The focus being on personalization and ease of implementation for the operators. Overall, there is a positive outlook for 2024, especially in industrial and multifamily. Many firms that have been modest in their acquisitions in 2023 are expecting new opportunities in 2024. We heard from several leaders of large companies who shared valuable insight on how to create a positive culture that encourages opportunity for growth and retention. I appreciated their vulnerability in expressing how easy it is to doubt yourself as a leader. Women especially tend to question their abilities and their seat at the table but you are enough and you have earned your spot! I got the pleasure of meeting several women personally who have created companies while balancing the demands of raising a family. It was very inspiring! Grateful for the opportunity to network with this group!
