As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we also want to recognize people who have been part of our journey. People like long-time member Mary I., who has been a Florida Blue Medicare member for 25 years. This self-described “woman of many adventures” says her plan’s benefits give her peace of mind. This includes daily in-home care at no extra cost. We’re honored that Mary has trusted us with her health care needs over the years. Learn more about how we’re helping her to achieve better health at https://bit.ly/406QfGb. #FLBlue80 #FlashbackFriday

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we’d like to recognize Hispanic health care pioneers. From life-altering cures to better care for millions, these people have been instrumental in advancing healthcare. A Panamanian-American nurse and visionary, Dr. Murillo-Rohde founded the National Association of Hispanic Nurses in 1975. Her legacy? Empowering Latinas to pursue education and serve their community. Let’s honor her during #HispanicHeritageMonth!

❤️ Our thoughts remain with the individuals and families affected by Hurricane Helene. As a mission-driven company committed to the well-being of our communities, we are providing support to several nonprofit organizations to help those most affected by the storm. We encourage others to join us in providing aid by considering a donation to the American Red Cross, United Way, Volunteer Florida or World Central Kitchen. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those impacted. #HurricaneHelene #DisasterRelief

This past Monday, the Miami Marlins and loanDepot park, Miami Marlins Foundation, and Florida Blue continued their partnership to bring fresh food to those in need helping to feed 1,000 families battling food insecurity at LoanDepot Park in Miami. This marks the fourth year of our successful partnership, which helps deliver more than 415,000 pounds of food per month to those who need it most via our co-branded 53-foot Farm Share\ truck. We're proud to be making a difference in our community.

It’s National HBCU Week, a week-long celebration of the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. These institutions were established to educate Black Americans when other institutions wouldn’t and continue to serve as a beacon of hope and progress for generations of students. Florida is home to four HBCUs: Bethune-Cookman University, Edward Waters University (Official), Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and Florida Memorial University. At Florida Blue, we’re honored that graduates from these universities have chosen to leverage their knowledge and expertise to help us deliver on our mission to help people and communities achieve better health. #HBCUWeek

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Florida Blue we’d like to recognize Hispanic healthcare pioneers. From life-altering cures to better care for millions, these people have been instrumental in advancing healthcare. Carlos Finlay, a healthcare pioneer, revolutionized our understanding of yellow fever. His mosquito-vector theory led to effective control measures, saving lives during the Spanish-American War and aiding the completion of the Panama Canal. Let’s celebrate this hero during #HispanicHeritageMonth!

The second week in September each year is designated as National HBCU Week. It’s a celebration of the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and their commitment to providing high-quality education and equal opportunities. In 1965, Congress officially defined an HBCU as a school of higher learning that was accredited and established before 1964 to educate Black Americans. The country’s HBCUs are rooted in a fundamental principle that everyone should be able to pursue the limits of their talent and ambition through a quality education. At Florida Blue, we believe a workforce that reflects the diverse backgrounds and cultures of the communities we serve strengthens our ability to tackle the most important challenges impacting health care. We are proud to have many HBCU graduates who are helping us deliver on our mission to help people and communities achieve better health. #HBCUWeek

At Florida Blue, we’re dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live and work. To honor this, team members across the state volunteered on 9/11 and throughout September. We kicked off our days of service in Jacksonville, creating snack packs and mindfulness kits for students and personal care kits for seniors. We also teamed up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to fill backpacks with school supplies. In Orlando, volunteers cleaned up gardening beds at 4Roots. In Tampa, volunteers packed meals for people in need. And in South Florida, we’re teaming up with the Miami Marlins and loanDepot park to provide food to those who otherwise might go without. Volunteering is just another way our team members give their time to spread kindness and unity and help pay tribute to those we lost on 9/11. #NeverForget #DayofService
