The depot's aircraft maintenance professionals perform phased depot maintenance, planned maintenance intervals, integrated maintenance concepts, modernizations, conversions, overhaul or in-service repair on the AV-8B and TAV-8B Harriers, the MV-22 and CV-22 Osprey, the AH-1Z Viper, the Air Force UH-1N Huey, the UH-1Y Venom, the CH-53E Super Stallion, and MH-53E Sea Dragon, the F/A-18A-D Hornet, the F/A-18E-F Super Hornet, the F-35A/B/C Lightning II, the H-60 Seahawk; and the C-130 Hercules. The depot is also the depot repair point for the drive and rotary systems of the MQ-8B Fire Scout. The depot overhauls, assembles and tests a number of aircraft engines, including the F402 (AV- and TAV-8B), the T400 (UH-1N), the T64 (CH-53E, and MH-53E), and the T58-400B (in support of the Presidential VH-3D Sea King). The depot is also establishing capability on the F-35B Lift System, T408 (H-53K) King Stallion, RQ-21 Blackjack, and T700 (CT7-8A6) in support of the Presidential VH-92A. FRCE has the capability to repair nearly 20,000 distinct aircraft components, ranging from the repair of intricate circuit cards and instruments to the overhaul and testing of main gearboxes. This support covers nearly 200 types, models, and series of aircraft. FRCE also provides worldwide aeronautical engineering, logistics, and program management support in both the maintenance and design fields, and works side-by-side with FRCE production artisans developing and refining overhaul, repair, test and troubleshooting procedures. Engineers and logisticians at FRCE support all vertical lift aircraft for the Navy and the Marine Corps, as well as the C-130, the RQ-21 and selected components. The command's customers include all Navy and Marine Corps aviation activities, 30 foreign nations, five Air Force activities, three Army activities, and two federal agencies.

  • EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Fleet Readiness Center East is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the diversity of our workforce and celebrating how heritage helps shape who we are, both personally and professionally. In this week's spotlight, Joshua A. Romero, subsystems engineer with the VH-92 Fleet Support Team, discusses how his heritage has helped shape his career: "My heritage has afforded me the outgoing and passionate personality that I use to build relationships and alliances with people of varying backgrounds. Without this personality, I would have not been able to build the strong relationships with the fine Americans I work alongside every day to uphold the 24/7, zero-fail mission." From Sept. 15-Oct. 15, the United States Department of Defense celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the rich history, tradition, and cultural diversity of Hispanic/Latino Americans. This observance honors inspirational Americans who trace their origin or descent to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central and South America, and other Spanish cultures. For generations, Hispanic Americans have served on the front lines and supported critical operations at home and abroad, exemplifying their commitment to our Nation's safety and progress. This year's National Hispanic Heritage Month theme, "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together," highlights how the Latino community drives progress through groundbreaking technologies, social justice reforms, and essential support programs for our families and veterans. #HispanicHeritageMonth2024

  • FLYBY FRIDAY This week, we take a look at the Fleet Readiness Center East Manufacturing and Engines Planning and Operations shop. Planners are an integral part of operations at FRCE, whether they're reviewing blueprints or working hand-in-hand with engineers to design and deliver the critical parts and tools that ensure aircraft are always ready for flight. They manage multiple projects every day, planning, estimating and coordinating workload requirements for the aircraft engine systems that pass through the depot. #servicetothefleet #AircraftMaintenance #militaryaviation Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC)

  • EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT This month, Fleet Readiness Center East celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) recognizing the invaluable contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. In this week’s spotlight, Thomas Hand, a training administrator at FRCE, discusses how individuals are not defined by their disabilities: “My experience with disability has taught me that abilities are based on the drive of an individual and disabilities are not always limiting. Being a mentor provides me the opportunity to assist others who may feel limited by their issues. Sometimes we just need someone to help us push through and reinforce a positive mental attitude.” Each October, the Department of Defense honors NDEAM, celebrating the invaluable contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. This year’s theme, “Access to Good Jobs for All,” underscores the DoD’s commitment to enhancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

  • COUNT ‘EM OUT! Fleet Readiness Center East’s (FRCE) Individuals with Disabilities Action Team (IWDAT) hosted a 22-A-Day Pushup Challenge today aimed at recognizing America’s service members and veterans. More than 200 FRCE personnel joined IWDAT to meet the challenge and honor those who serve, including FRCE Commanding Officer Randy Berti, who joined in remotely to do his pushups. The challenge involving pressing out twenty-two pushups began in 2016 and quickly spread throughout military and civilian organizations. These events are aimed at promoting awareness for veteran suicide prevention along with honoring military service members and veterans.

  • FLYBY FRIDAY! For most of us, when thinking about H-53 helicopters, their sheer size and capability usually come to mind. However, for artisans in the Fleet Readiness Center East H-53 Gearbox Shop, it’s all about the heart of the bird: the main gearbox. The H-53 main gearbox has more than 600 components, and the artisans work meticulously to ensure each one that passes through the depot is ready to deliver quality service to the fleet. #servicetothefleet #H53 #aircraftmaintenance #militaryaviation Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
