It was great seeing everyone at NATEAC this year! Looking forward to sponsoring more engaging and insightful content and events. It also happened to be one of the few occasions where about half of our team was in attendance 🎉 so we HAD to take these rare group shots!

About us
Fisher Dachs Associates is one of the world’s leading theatre planning and design consultants. Our mission is to help our clients plan and design vibrant, innovative, and technically superb performance spaces and cultural buildings for a wide range of uses. Collaboration is key to what we do. Founded by legendary Broadway lighting designer Jules Fisher, and under the direction of Joshua Dachs, FDA has over 50 years’ experience in providing guidance to over 1,000 performing arts projects. These range from small community theatres to major cultural centers worldwide and includes theaters for drama, dance and musicals; concert halls; opera houses; multi-purpose touring venues; higher education and academic institutions; corporate auditoriums and event spaces; rock’n’roll clubs and popular music venues. Our goal is to craft buildings that are easy to find your way around, are great places to visit, work, or perform in, and that function equally well for the artists who work in the space, the technical staff who keep it running smoothly, and the management team that has to operate it successfully. To do that we draw on our deep experience and listen closely to our clients, their staff, and their stakeholders. Our staff includes people with backgrounds as set and lighting designers, musicians, architects, stage technicians, production managers, producers, and stage managers. Our work is kept fresh because we’re still actively involved in production, whether its Jules Fisher’s work on Broadway or our work designing unique performance environments for over 20 productions at the Park Avenue Armory. Our firm’s clients include architects, cultural organizations, universities, government agencies, commercial investors, and property developers. We have completed projects in Canada, China, Columbia, Egypt, England, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, and the UAE, in addition to the USA.

Join us for the official Theatre Communications Group National Conference Virtual Happy Hour Thursday June 20, 2024 @ 4:45PM CT ( 2:45 PM PT / 5:45 PM ET ) Definitely not your COVID Zoom Happy Hour of yester-year! This year, we’re partnering up (again!) with Agile Lens: Immersive Design and FDA Theatre Planning and Design to transport you to a happy hour venue like none you’ve experienced before. Come mingle with TCG attendees, share about what you are interested in or working on these days, and/or listen in to a guided conversation about the use of VR/AR/XR (mixed reality) in theatre performance and theatre design. You’ll be able to join in using the Spatial platform. Originally intended for gaming, Spatial also serves as a way to connect global communities across the web and revolutionize the way people interact, explore art, culture, and creativity. It is a perfect fit for our convening. All you need on your device is a working microphone. You will also have the option of using your camera for a more integrated Zoom-like experience. We'll see you there!! https://lnkd.in/eKXBx27K

FDA was proud to sponsor the Spring Summit for the Alliance of Resident Theatres (A.R.T) (A.R.T./New York) in New York these last two days. The theme "UNCHARTED, Leading Beyond The Path" featured New York’s non-profit theatre community in a two-day event of panel discussions, workshops, mixers, roundtable conversations encouraging relationship building, solution sharing, and insights for creating prosperous and sustainable futures in the industry. Thanks to our very own Michael Wyant for representing us!

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park recognized by Cincinnati Design Award in the Building Architecture- Large Scale (>10,000 sf) category. "While most projects are interdisciplinary in nature, this award honors projects that illustrate an exemplary amount of detail and seamless coordination between different design disciplines. For this award, the project should show that the work of individual design disciplines not only fit into the party of the entire project, but each discipline enhanced and elevated the other’s work, so that the project on the whole became more successful."
