We had so much fun participating in the Ilion Days 38th Annual Doo Dah Parade on Friday night. Forty-six First Source employees and their families had a wonderful time alongside our Experience Truck engaging with the community, giving out candy, and sharing the message of the parade theme: “Super Ilion.” We cannot wait till next year. #WeAreCommunity

We are so proud of Officer Penny, the City of Utica, NY Police Department's Therapy Dog, sponsored by First Source, with all of her recent accomplishments! First and foremost, we would like to wish a very Happy Belated First Birthday to Penny, as she turned 1 last month! To celebrate her birthday, Officer Penny took her test for Therapy Dog International on 6/30 and passed with flying colors, which means she is now officially a therapy dog! Also on 6/30, she passed her test for American Kennel Club Urban Canine Good Citizen. This concludes Penny’s training regimen. In addition to all her training and celebrations, Officer Penny has been a very busy good girl, assisting the Utica Police Dept. on calls as well as doing several outreaches to our local schools and daycares. She does an excellent job out in the community and certainly has been an asset to the Crisis Response Team. Keep up the great work in our community, Officer Penny!

As a result of our Spring Plant Sale and “Wish List” donation drive in May, First Source proudly presented Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society with a check for $2,420 along with a trunk full of donations collected at our area branches. Thank you to all who volunteered their time to work at the plant sale, those that purchased plants and those who made both monetary and “wish lists” donations for our area Humane Societies. Your generosity and community support for this worthy cause is greatly appreciated. #WeAreCommunity. 

We are proud to announce that we have 11 employees who have graduated from the Center for Leadership Excellence at MVCC (CLE) programs today! It was a busy and productive year as they engaged with our community through experiences, built many relationships along the way, and enhanced their leadership experience. Congratulations to the CLE class of 2024, and a special congratulations to our First Source employees. Leadership Academy: Paul DePietro, Tina Skinner, Danielle Salm, and Savanna Kinderman. Supervisors Institute: Jessie Sherman, David Dietz, Jaime Buley, Sarah Guarascio, and Adela Covic. Leadership Mohawk Valley: Stacey Vomer, and Amanda Abbe.

First Source is proud to announce that we have awarded a $2,500 college scholarship to New Hartford High School senior, Emma Wameling! This student, and Member of the credit union was chosen based on her outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements. Emma plans to attend Springfield College and will be majoring in Health Sciences. Congratulations on your hard work and all your achievements, Emma!
