Insurance companies are P-R-O-S at holding contradictory opinions...example: telemedicine Telemedicine is a great way to keep up with primary care during the pandemic...buuuuttt now people are "using" it too much and enjoying the convenince so we are going to pull back on allowed telemedicine so we don't make it so easy for patients to get the care they need. BUT ALSO...we can just offer direct to member telemdedicine specialist visits so you can do a virtual GI/ENDO etc...we pay the doctor and cut the middle guy (your regular specialist) right outta the loop - how convenient!! The answer --> relationships and touch points. They chose and continue to choose you fo reason but it is up to us to keep reminding them of the care, value, personal touch that we provide. Not easy, but 100% requirement to keep patients coming to you when alternative & more convenient avenues keep popping up (and being actively propped up by insurance co!)
