About us
Financial Women of San Francisco advances the success of women in finance in the Bay Area. Formerly known as “The Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco,” we are an essential source of insight and inspiration to more than 300 financial women throughout the Bay Area. Member Profile ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ Our members are executive and managerial-level women who work in finance or financial services. Many are CEOs, CFOs, corporate treasurers, CPAs and attorneys. We also welcome commercial and private bankers, investment advisors, fund managers, securities analysts, administrators, financial planners, consultants, recruiters, marketers and other professionals who work in financial services. Our membership represents all generations and cultural backgrounds. Our oldest member is in her 80s. Our youngest members are still in college. Two Bay Area Chapters ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ Members’ employers are just as broad and are located across the Bay Area. To ensure that distance isn’t a barrier to participation, we host programs through three local chapters: ☛ San Francisco ☛ East Bay Mission ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ We exist to advance professionalism in finance and financial services by promoting the development, career progress and leadership of women by: ☛ Providing a public forum for examination of important contemporary issues in business, finance, governmental policy and civic affairs ☛ Providing a broad-based network of contacts for women in the field and encouraging camaraderie and cooperation ☛ Gaining greater recognition for women's achievements in business ☛ Encouraging women to seek career opportunities in finance and business ☛ Providing professional development and leadership opportunities for women ☛ Providing financial support through our Scholarship Fund to women studying for careers in finance.

It's #MeetAMemberMonday and we're introducing Ruth Mbanali, an MBA student at Berkeley Haas School of Business. With a rich history of serving the financial services sector in Nigeria and for KPMG, in 2020 Ruth co-founded a credit startup aimed at extending financial access to small and medium-scale businesses neglected by traditional lenders. Ruth holds leadership positions at Haas, including International Student Representative for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region and roles within various student organizations.
