Outdoorsy hospitality is creating a front door to the wild beyond. Mountain lodges, off-grid retreats, and extreme sports social clubs are the new glamping. • This January, Starwood Capital Group and AJ Capital Partners launched Field & Stream Lodge Co., planning 20 to 25 outdoors lifestyle hotels near America’s national parks. • Gravity Haus, operator of six members-only clubs that combine lodging, fitness, coworking, and mountain sports, secured financing to expand beyond CO and CA. • Microhotel operators Field Station and LOGE Camps are scaling up locations that combine affordable lodging, community events, guided experiences, and gear rentals. • Making camping more accessible, tiny cabin retreat operators Getaway, Raus, and Unyoked recently raised funding to expand domestically and abroad. As more people entertain the idea of getting outside, these spots are designed to make them feel a little more comfortable. Are you roughing it, going for luxury lodging, or staying home?
