It's been a busy week at Fiberplane! We presented the https://honc.dev stack at the Berlin Vue.JS meetup. HONC is a modular collection of technologies for building lightweight, type-safe, edge-enabled apis. It uses Hono, the Drizzle ORM, Neon database and Cloudflare Workers. The next day we showcased our API debugging prototype during Supabase's launch week in #berlin. 🦆 Keep honc'ing! 🪿

Hello HONC, hello Berlin! Trying out new technologies with the team is always fun, especially when hacking together. Sharing what we've built with the world and seeing how other developers respond is both exciting and helpful. This week, we joined the Vue.js and #Supabase meetups in Berlin, where we presented HONC —a stack that combines an API framework, database, ORM, and cloud deployment platform to kick off a project structure. Ir currently features #Hono, Cloudflare Workers, Drizzle and Neon. In addition to the HONC stack, we showcased our prototype of a debugging companion, currently under the label "fpx." HONC is built on #Hono, and we've developed middleware that detects routes within the project and identifies the function handlers. This is incredibly handy when testing, debugging and exploring APIs. We've also added some AI features to simulate both friendly and hostile users interacting with the API endpoints. Our middleware also ties back to our ongoing work with observability tooling. It leverages #OpenTelemetry, with the fpx component outlining the traces. Exploring new use cases for traces and understanding their value beyond classic SRE and monitoring dashboards has been an exciting journey. While we've chosen specific tools for now, we remain tool-agnostic and believe that this structure and setup is beneficial regardless of the tools involved. During the Supabase meetup, we also brainstormed how to further support multiple databases and began outlining an early version of a Supabase prototype project. Thanks to everyone for the great conversations and discussions during the meetups! If you haven't tried it out yet, HONC is just one command line away:   ⌨ npm create honc-app@latest  👉 honc.dev Let us know what you think!
