At 44 y/o, Survey Technician, Jason James, earns AAS in Drafting and Design Technology from SOWELA Technical Community College—a courageous choice to return to college and pursue a new career in Drafting yielding a tremendous result. Jason shares how this life-changing decision, supported by his wife, Courtney, and children, Holt and Griffin, turned into an enriching experience. Despite initial nerves about being older than most of his classmates, Jason quickly found camaraderie, helping him to excel and embrace his new path. "These friendships made two years fly by faster than any I had ever experienced. I am so blessed that this new generation of Drafters helped me become more than an old retired Soldier. "My advice to anyone deciding to go to college later in life is: 1. Trust yourself and the plan God has for you. 2. Make a goal and develop a strategy to achieve that goal. 3. Be willing to adapt. 4. These young professionals are smart, let them teach you something. 5. Make friends who will be there when you need help." You're an inspiration, Jason. Iberia Parish President, M. Larry Richard sees Acadiana Regional Airport Access Road project through completion—paving the way for economic growth and connectivity, driving Iberia Parish forward. Fenstermaker designed a two-lane roadway connecting LA 3212 and LA 675 in New Iberia, LA, providing a more direct access path to the airport. Engineering design consisted of the main roadway, one single-lane, five-leg roundabout, and a two-lane roadway to serve a future connection with US-90 Frontage Road and a second roundabout. Fenstermaker is proud to play a role in the development and prosperity of Iberia Parish—meeting LADOTD requirements, incorporating existing roadways, and allowing for future connectivity and expansion.  Learn more, watch our project video: https://lnkd.in/g3JW-Eaf

Fenstermaker delivers impeccable Environmental Assessment (EA) Report to Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development, securing the first-ever 'net benefit determination' for an LADOTD project while achieving a Finding of No Significant Impacts (FONSI) approval from both Federal Highway Administration and LADOTD. Demonstrating exceptional expertise in both environmental assessments and project management, Fenstermaker successfully overseeing a team of seven sub-consultants for the Cane River Bridge project—underscoring our capacity for complex projects while ensuring safety, traffic efficiency, community connectivity, and the preservation of environmental and historical integrity.
