One in 11 people worldwide went hungry last year according to the "The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World" report released by FAO today. While one of the key findings was a decline in malnutrition & child stunting, we're still off-track to achieving SDG2: Zero Hunger by 2030. Yesterday, July 23, 2024, the Biden-Harris Administration held The White House Super Pollutants Summit where it announced new USG actions to address climate super-pollutants, including 9 new private sector partners with USAID under the Feed the Future Food Loss and Waste (FLW) Accelerator, implemented by Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships https://lnkd.in/dzCewUTk We’re excited to work with these new partners in #Kenya, #Nepal, #Tanzania. Combined with the three existing MSP FLW partners, these nine new partners will upcycle or otherwise prevent over 85,000 metric tons of FLW while creating more than 600 new jobs through innovative food processing and storage and other circular economy approaches.
