At FeedNC, we understand that so many generous and thoughtful people want to help with the Hurricane Helene relief in Western NC. The organization that we are referring people to is called Hurricane Helene Airlift Relief. You can find an online page for their updates on Facebook. They are collecting specific items and donations at multiple locations throughout Lake Norman. The most direct and timely route to donate items is to take them to the Statesville Regional Airport at 238 Airport Rd. in Statesville from 8 am-4 pm. This will get the necessary supplies directly to the people in need, via air, without multiple transitions. If you cannot get to Statesville, you can drop off items at Victory Lanes in Mooresville. The current supplies list can be found below. At this time, FeedNC is not a drop-off site because we remain focused on our mission of providing food, education, and resources to our local community and all who walk through our door and need assistance. We have a commitment to many families who will need food and assistance this week and in the future. Our doors are open for the entire community to join us for breakfast and lunch daily as well as to provide groceries and other services for our members. We have also attached a resource document that may be helpful for those seeking further information about Hurricane Helene. We will be closely monitoring the ways that FeedNC can create intentional connections to help the ongoing relief and rebuilding efforts in Western NC. Located inside of FeedNC, join us at Donoghue’s Open Door at FeedNC where all members of the community can dine, one meal per day at no charge Monday - Friday 9 am-2 pm for our breakfast or lunch service We encourage those coming in to dine with us to join your neighbors at one of our community tables to make new connections & friends! We also have private tables for those who are a little shy or just enjoying a quick business lunch. What's The Purpose of Community Dining? We believe that everyone deserves nutritious food and good people in their lives. This is our way of breaking down barriers and encouraging the community to come together to enjoy a good meal and their neighbor's company. At FeedNC and Donoghue’s Open Door, we believe every person has something to give and receive, including skills, talents, and compassion. Coming together as a community builds valuable social capital. Additionally, Donoghues Open Door provides a space for our Culinary Workforce students to practice their skills before heading out into the workforce!

September is Hunger Action Month. As a local community, we ask that you join FeedNC by turning your compassion into action this September. Having access to nutritious food can alleviate undue stress and promote things like children’s academic success, adults securing employment, and preventing food-related illnesses that disproportionately affect individuals living in poverty in your community. Will you join us? https://lnkd.in/e3pgjFeB
