Tom Jones of Federated member Fisher Auto Parts was recently honored by the Virginia Automotive Association (VAA) with its Distinguished Member award. “On behalf of Federated, I would like to extend our best congratulations to Tom Jones for receiving this prestigious Distinguished Member award,” said Sue Godschalk, president of Federated Auto Parts. “In his role of store support and special projects, Tom has been a dedicated supporter of Federated over his many years at Fisher Auto Parts and we are pleased to see him honored.” Jones received his honor at the recent VAA convention held in April at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. Jones, who has served on the VAA board since 2008, started his career at Fisher in 1991 as a regional sales manager before transitioning to a new role in store operations as store support and special projects in 2022. “I was pleasantly surprised to be recognized by the association for my years of service and to also receive the Distinguished Member award,” said Jones. “The award means a lot to me because Bob Mansfield was one of the last recipients of it. It was also a great honor to receive this award in the presence of our vendor partners who have supported us through the years on ‘Federated Boulevard’ at the VAA convention. When I took a picture with the vendors, it brought to mind when Art Fisher would talk about partnership relationship.”

Registration Now Open for The Group Membership Meeting Lexington, Va– July 1, 2024 – Registration is now available for the Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) membership conference held Nov. 2-7 at The Venetian Las Vegas. The annual meeting will run concurrently with the AWDA Conference and AAPEX, providing the opportunity for show floor visits and one-on-one sessions between members of The Group and supplier partners. Also on the agenda are multiple receptions, an awards luncheon, breakout sessions and seminars for each banner-marketing brand. “We are excited to host our national membership conference at the same time as AWDA and AAPEX,” said Larry Pavey, CEO of The Group. “Our members have embraced being in Las Vegas during Industry Week. They are looking forward to learning about the latest updates on Right to Repair and how they can be strong advocates for this essential initiative.
