It's been a busy couple of months and haven't been able to pause for breath, but sometimes it's worthwhile celebrating a few wins (particularly when 90% of my day is normally spent receiving bad news!). First off, I was immensely proud that we appeared in the Alantra Fast 50 Food and Beverage companies. Big thanks to Charles Lanceley for all the work that goes into this, and it's been genuinely so nice to speak to so many like-minded companies in the same field (mainly to cry on each other's shoulders!). Next up we made it into the FEBE Growth 100 list for the second year running. John Maffioli and Charlotte Quince are just the best people. They are building such an amazing entrepreneurial community, and the events they put on are just so authentic. Can't wait for the launch party, and maybe even coming back for a 3rd year running.... And lastly, I've been shortlisted for the Great British Entrepreneur awards for the "Maker and Creator" category. I honestly didn't think I stood a chance as contract manufacturing is about as unsexy as a Hippo wearing a thong (unless you love machines like I do), but after another crazy year of growth, it's so exciting to be on this shortlist. (Note to self, get a new photo taken as the one of you from 7 years ago just depresses you). Great British Entrepreneur Awards & Community Onward and upwards!

Do what you love, and you'll have the power to rock any room you walk into 🤘 I went to see The Killers recently at The O2 Arena, and it was unbelievable. 🎸🎤 The energy, the noise, the atmosphere — everything was just electric.⚡ What truly mesmerised me wasn't just their incredible music or Brandon Flowers' out-of-this-world charisma. It was watching the whole band working together and loving every second on stage. You could tell they were having the time of their lives, and their passion was infectious. It got me thinking: do what you love, and your passion will create an energy that will rock any room. The Killers personified this. Their charisma shone through because they loved what they were doing, and it made the audience buy into it completely. The lesson for me? Passion is infectious. Absolutely epic to meet Josh White, the founder of Cano Water®, at the FEBE Growth 100 Founders' Story Studio in Islington yesterday! 💚💧 🌟 You've probably seen Cano Water, a brand that's quickly become incredibly recognisable. That's a fantastic feat in itself, but Josh's backstory is even more incredible. 🤯 Diagnosed with extreme ADHD and suffering from anxiety, Josh had a bad time in school and fell in with the wrong crowd. By his teens, he was struggling with alcohol and entered rehab. But that was his turning point. From there, Josh found his superpower and threw himself into music, becoming an amazing DJ and running an events business. But a holiday in Thailand changed everything. Seeing the beaches littered with plastic, he made it his mission to combat plastic waste by creating water in aluminium cans — one of the world's most recyclable materials. ♻️ When he first came up with the idea, some people laughed him out of the room. 🙄 😠 More fool them. Today, Cano Water is booming, boasting incredible investors like Ricky Gervais. It's even expanding into the US. And yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the FEBE Legend evening at the iconic Fortnum & Mason to listen to Charlie Bigham share his awe inspiring 28-year journey building his hugely successful food brand. Last night, I enjoyed attending the FEBE Growth 100 entrepreneurs event, with the inspiring Charlie Bigham as the guest speaker. Charlie shared his incredible journey, including some top advice: ✅ Getting your products in top retailers through relentless hustle: To get into Sainsbury's, he arrived at their HQ in Holborn and handed out his Fish Pie to staff leaving the office, asking them to email the buyer if they liked it. He got a call the next day! ✅ Focusing on improving your best-selling product: A 2% improvement in a top-selling SKU can be far more valuable than creating a new variant of a product. ✅ Slow and steady wins the race: His business has grown on average 15% a year over 28 years, now it does over £100m with only 6 customers! He has also not taken any outside funding! ✅ Being kind: Charlie highlighted the importance of kindness, an often undervalued trait, in gaining store placements through positive relationships with buyers and retaining top talent. I love that he hosts an annual BBQ at his Somerset home for the entire team. ✅ Building a sustainable legacy for future generations: Charlie has built a state-of-the-art kitchen in a disused quarry, now powered by 50% solar energy. A huge shoutout to John Maffioli and Charlotte Quince for setting up FEBE and organising such amazing events. Their energy makes these events truly worthwhile.
