Yesterday our team had the opportunity to learn how to get and harness the horses that call Live Earth Farm home. This training let's us have our campers walk and groom the horses on a daily basis. Thank you Constance for sharing your time and knowledge with us!

About us
Farm Discovery at Live Earth teaches kids and families the value of seasonal, organic, and local food systems for their bodies, the environment and their communities. The program’s mission is empowering youth and families to build and sustain healthy food, farming, social and natural systems. Our farm, Live Earth Farm (LEF), established in 1996, is a 150 acre diversified, organic, family farm overlooking the Pajaro Valley in the Santa Cruz area of California. LEF runs a year round CSA with over 800 members, growing over 50 different fruits and vegetables surrounded by a native landscape of redwoods and oak woodland. LEF’s produce is directly marketed through local farmer’s markets, restaurants, a thriving web store, and a weekly CSA program. What we care about We believe that we can transform personal and community health and improve our impact on earth by building and sustaining collaborative agricultural, ecological and social systems. We believe that communities armed with knowledge and the skills of inquiry can transform food, farming and natural systems for the better. What we do * Farm Discovery offers educational programs that inspire youth and families to transform their relationship to food, farming and nature. * We steward our working farm and its wild spaces as an environmentally and economically viable piece of the food system and a learning space. * We collaborate with community partners to learn from each other and extend our collective impact in the community.

Last week, volunteers from @pacificgasandelectric generously spent their time at the farm helping with various tasks such as strawberry picking, weeding, and caring for the animals. Their dedication and hard work are truly appreciated, and their efforts have made a significant impact on the farm. Thank you to all the PG&E volunteers for their valuable contribution to our community.
