Our mission: To end the cycle of poverty and transform our community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self sufficiency. What we do: Family Scholar House recognizes the challenges that single parents and youth face in trying to obtain career track employment. Through a full continuum of services, we provide educational advocacy and family support services including: residential housing and rental assistance, financial assistance for childcare and transportation, academic advising and career support, food assistance through donations, and referrals to other community resources. Jessica Bullard started at Family Scholar House as an Academic Coach, achieving her goal of giving back to a place that had given so much to her. Jessica was once a participant at Family Scholar House. The entire time she was there, she consistently thought about the things she would like to accomplish once she made it to the other side.
