We just wrapped up the second series of Extension Skills, focused on "Elevating Community Engagement"! Over the past few months, we've hosted Cooperative Extension experts to explore strategies to enhance outreach and make meaningful connections with our communities. Here’s a quick recap: May: Dr. Keith Taylor explored how institutions of collective action can drive community power and economic wellbeing. June: Leaders from the Immigrant and Refugee Youth Champions Group shared essential resources for engaging immigrant, migrant, and refugee audiences. July: Anya Sheftel guided us through using Motivational Interviewing in group settings to support health behavior change. August: The CRED team from the University of Arizona Extension introduced us to actor mapping, a tool to improve community engagement efforts.
