Today, Alexis Berggren, President and CEO of Explore Evansville, gave a presentation on the State of Tourism to the Evansville Rotary Club. She emphasized how tourism plays a vital role in the Evansville, IN, community by driving economic growth, creating jobs, and showcasing our city's unique charm. Each visitor who comes for a conference, sporting event, or weekend getaway contributes to the success of local businesses, from our restaurants and hotels to our shops and attractions. Beyond the financial impact, tourism helps build community pride and fosters connections between residents and visitors. As we continue to welcome guests, we're also sharing the story of Evansville—a city rich in culture, hospitality, and opportunity.   Check out some of the notable highlights from her presentation!

Today was the last Eclipse Task Force meeting before the Total Solar Eclipse next Monday! We were excited to debut our Giant Solar Eclipse Glasses and hear from local experts to ensure our community is prepared. Our President and CEO, Alexis Berggren, reported on a wide variety of topics like the weather forecast for the day, rising hotel occupancy, time of totality, and much more. We also heard from Eclipse enthusiasts that underscored how significant this event is, law enforcement and their efforts to keep us safe, and event organizers on their event updates. These meetings have proven to be beneficial in ensuring the Evansville community members and organizers are on the same page. They have helped solve problems before they arise by bringing together several different representatives from different types of organizations. Take the time time to make your business shine! There’s always something to do in beautiful Evansville. This city has more than 300 locally owned and operated non-chain restaurants and food trucks, many of them serving you from local farms. Sports fans will appreciate Evansville’s history, as it is home to historic Bosse Field, the first municipally owned sports stadium in the nation and the third-oldest ballpark still in regular use for professional baseball.
