🚨 Largest ever synthetic opioid laboratory in Poland dismantled. Polish and Ukrainian law enforcement arrest 7 criminals and seize unprecedented amount of synthetic drugs. During 38 raids conducted across both countries, 7 members of the criminal network responsible for drug production in Poland and Ukraine were taken into custody. 🚨 28 arrested and cocaine lab dismantled in hit against drug traffickers. Europol supported Spanish and Colombian law enforcement in taking down a cocaine-smuggling criminal network. The Spanish (Policía Nacional) and Colombian Police (Policía Nacional de Colombia) seized around 70 kilos of narcotics, large sums of cash and three firearms. The organised crime group, made up of mainly Colombian and Spanish suspects, was led by a former member of the now-disbanded Colombian paramilitary group ‘Bloque Central Bolívar’. On two separate action days in June 2024, law enforcement arrested 26 suspects and dismantled a cocaine-extraction and processing lab. Two further suspects were taken into custody in Colombia. 🚨 4 High Value Targets leading migrant smuggling ring arrested in Bulgaria. The smuggling activities resembled a complex enterprise - involving leaders, organisers and facilitators of different nationalities. Bulgarian law enforcement authorities arrested 8 suspected members of a gang that smuggled over 130 migrants from Turkey into Bulgaria, and then on to other European destinations via the Western Balkan route. 🚨 Euro forger who produced EUR 11 million in fake bills arrested in Italy. The counterfeiter sold EUR 8 million worth of fake banknotes across Europe, with EUR 3 million worth ready to go in his Naples-based printing laboratory. On an action day conducted in Naples, Italy, on 14 August 2024, the Italian Carabinieri arrested a notorious money forger, dismantled his sophisticated counterfeiting print shop and seized nearly EUR 3 million in high-quality counterfeit banknotes. Collaborating closely with the French National Police, experts from the respective anti-currency counterfeiting units tracked down the criminal believed to be responsible for selling millions of euros worth of forged banknotes. Europol supported this investigation, which started in 2022 and has since seen the intelligence contributions from at least 10 countries reporting seizures of the same type of faked euro bills.
